VIDEO: MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE: WE’RE CHANGING COURSE

by PIM | January 8, 2019

New CGIAR video features our previous Director Dr. Karen Brooks (retired in 2018) who talks about the importance of agriculture for youth employment in developing countries.

“We are talking about five hundred million young people between the ages of 15 to 24 in Africa south of the Sahara, in South Asia, in Central Asia. They are moving into the labor force, and they are questioning what the opportunities are, where they should work. Many of the places that have large numbers of young people are very dependent on agriculture. If this issue is not properly understood and addressed, it is going to have global repercussions”.
